Abstract

Brazil is a signatory to several international treaties, including the Sustainable Development Goals, which establishes, in its goal 4, that education must be inclusive, equitable and of quality, as well as promote opportunities for lifelong learning for all. With a territory of 1,571 million km2, the state of Amazonas needs to overcome geographical and structural hurdles to ensure that thousands of youth can access school and to promote equal opportunities at scale. In this article, we describe the implementation phase of an innovative public policy, the Amazonas’ Media Center, which utilizes interactive technology to build an equitable educational system. We argue that technology is a lever for change, together with the initial and continuing training of public school teachers.
