Abstract

This article intends to examine some strategies observed in the formation of the local elite in Grão Pará in the eighteenth century, centered on a particular case study involving the election to almotacé in 1741, addressing both individual and group trajectories. Stand out in this analysis, issues such as the formation of the Pará colonial elite allied to the consolidation of the position of this group both so through access to local power as through networks of related and clientelist, making use of diverse sources.
