This article discusses some problems related to the nomenclature and definition of the siliceous rocks that were most commonly used by the prehistoric man. The adoption of a nomenclature that is in accordance with the progresses of petrology is proposed, in order to minimize the imprecision in the classification of the lithic raw materials.Downloads
