The aim of this paper consists in identifying the underlying policies related to exhibitions of anthropological collections in La Plata Museum. The study focuses on institutional documents and interviews to functionaries and scholars. A discourse analysis technique was used to interpretate written texts and oral interviews. The results indicate that the naturalistic and academic character of the Museum was determinant in the conditions of exhibition. Furthermore, these conditions were influenced by the theoretical development of anthropology in Argentina and the political national background.Downloads
