This essay intends to present a bibliographical study about Tshibinda Ilunga, whose importance is evident in the historical tradition of Lunda people and by the depiction of this character in Tshokwe art. Up to now our study results from a compilation of written material and iconographic data according to the specialized literature. Thus, the text tells the story of Tshibinda Ilunga and shows how he receives from the hands of Tshokwe artists a treatment similar to those they dedicate to their early ancestors, considering that the Luba hunter raises again permanently in the art of this people.Downloads
