The manufacture of bronze vessels as concentration of techniques applied in the fabrication of other categories of bronze objects.

Résumé

The bronze vessels produced at the end of the roman republican period and beginning of the imperial period arc proposed as a source of technical experiences diffused and absorbed in the fabrication of other objects which have parallel elements to those which compose these vessels: statuettes, medallions, mirrors, bases of statuettes, candelabra and similar ones. In the analysis of each of the vessels elements — handles, medallions and bases — and their respective parallels in the other categories of objects, it was taken into consideration technical aspects as well as stilystic elements and artistic and iconographie traditions to obtain the picture of inter-relations among these manufactures based on specialized work.
