Résumé

This article intends to explain how the Roman second century Gate at Perge belongs to a harmonious architectural complex, built up according to a broad artistic program. The several elements of the Gate (courtyards, niches and scultures, colonnades) are analysed in the light of their possible associations with the different wall painting styles and with literary compositions, acquiring thus a unique coherency.
