Abstract

The questions of introducing microelectronics as a discipline in the curriculum of the basic school is analysed from a standpoint that distinguishes the foundations on this discipline from learning the techniques of handling equipments of any kind. The possibility of encourpassing the fundamental notions of microelectronics with the use of a no-cost virtual machine - the Post machine - is presented. Such model may be employed to present computers in an absolutely general way, even making the use of equipments unnecessary.
