Abstract

The author, initially, aims at analysing the domintate part of the content of history courses traditionally given in Brazil, reconstructing their bases. Later on, the historical conditions that led to the changes in courses content observed during the 80's are examined. Finally, the focus is placed on the issue with respect to the first grade of primary school (M.A.C.C.).
