Laerte Ramos de Carvalho: o discurso e a prática

Abstract

Complementing two previous articles which dealt with the philosophical and historical writings and the concept f education of Laerte Ramos de Carvalho, first director of the Faculty of Education of USP, this article deals with his action as rector of the University of Brasilia, as a member of the State Board of Education of São Paulo, and as chief administrator and professor of the Prof. Queiroz Filho Regional Center of Educational Research and of FEUSP itself. Given is polemical nature and the critical period during which it took place, this action deserves a more profound investigation than it was possible to present within the limits of time and space of this, that can be considered only a first step, in whichs documents and statements are reproduced more than critically discussed.
