The Titan yellow method for the determination of magnesium is applied to the study of magnesium contents of blood serum of human beings, certain marine animals and sea-water. The method is essentially that of Koltoff, as modified by Gillam, adapted to the determination of the metal on minute quantities of material. A simple, yet reliable, method of ashing is described, and analysis for seawater are given.Downloads
