Abstract

In this paper, the authors report the organization of a blood bank for dogs in the Department of Surgery and Obstetrics, Faculty Veterinary Medicine of the University of São Paulo. After reporting all details of the collecting, preservation and blood transfusion, the authors report 26 cases of transfusions in dogs, as well as the descriptions of their clinical conditions.
