The LGBTQI+ population has faced, throughout time, countless social stigmas built around their sexual orientations/gender identity. Brazil emerges as one of the most dangerous country for those whose sexuality and gender identity differ from those considered hegemonic. This article aims to analyze the lethal violence rates against gay men in the state of Ceará between the years 2013 and 2017. Starting from a quantitative and qualitative approach and exploratory methodology, it was used the narrative review of related works and documentary research based on the annual reports of Gay Group of Bahia. It was noticed that the number of gay men homicide has increased during the last years in Brazil and the state of Ceará, becoming the highest rate of mortis causa by fire gun, victimizing, mainly, youth and adults, proletarians, white and brown people. It is concluded, then, the urgent need for more effective public security policies for the LGBTQI + population.
