The themes of evil and nihilism are constant in the work of Dostoevsky. However, in “Demons” (1871), the title and epigraph of the work already suggest, in a more explicit way, the character of the demonic in the actions of the characters. Suicide, murder, rape, death, chaos, censorship, lack of freedom, and destruction are elements present and active in the narrative. This article sought to bring a closer look at the forces and movement of evil, the end of which is nothingness.
