"Art as Device" - 100 years later

In 2017, It was celebrated the centenary of publication of “Art as device”, the essay in wich Viktor Chklóvski presents the first version of his celebred concept of “ostranênie”. Due to this, this study was thought as a comemorative perspective. It is discusses same relevant aspects presented in Chklóvski’s essay, as well as analyze, albeit briefly, some of its developments in Western critical tradition.
