This article is a tribute to the Russian writer Maksim Gorky (1868-1936), “The bitter”, in his one hundred and fifty years of birth. The paper analyzes the humanist vein of the writer who links his political activism to his works. Going against the writings of oneself, we will use the work My universities as the indispensable conductor for a rewriting of a story, where the private memories, obviously asymmetrical and random access, remain in a state of conservation capable of being brought to reality through the reading only of Gorky's voice.
