Abstract

The article presents some important details of the life and work trajectory of literary critic, poet, writer and translator David Vygodsky. Virtually unknown in Brazil, David played an important role, in the early years of the Soviet Union, in publicizing works by writers from Spain, Portugal and Latin America. This article presents material found in archives in Moscow, raises some questions about the translation of the tale of the Brazilian writer Alcides Maya, which appears in a collection organized by David and brings the translation of a poem written by him before he died tragically.
