Abstract

The article concerns the work of Brazilian stage director Christiane
Jatahy in five performances (four theatre plays and an opera), aiming
to analyze her stagings regarding the ideas of system, device, mediation
and repetition. Through an investigation of her dramaturgical operations,
I try to identify procedures adopted to destabilize repetition
in the theatre, such as the creation of counter-devices, the work with
systems in the creative process of a scenic dramaturgy that is also
an actor’s dramaturgy, as well as the relation between theatre and
cinema.
