Abstract

In the present art scene, some theatre productions discuss important issues of the contemporaneity through unquestionable formal accuracy. This is the case of two plays reviewed in this essay, both of them on the repertoire of Berlin’s Schaubühne: while Never Forever, by the German director Falk Richter with Total Brutal, enacts a contemporary portrait of melancholy, I’d rather Goya robbed me of sleep than some arsehole, by the Spanish director Rodrigo García, discusses the link between Humanism and Anthropotechnics.
