Abstract

This article aims to discuss the discursive and imaginary representations about race relations in Brazil in the pages of the Unesco Courier journal edited by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco). It is a bibliographical research that integrates a broad research objective that seeks to verify the way in which Unesco established global normative guidelines for the racial question. It was tried to identify what types of narrative mechanisms are mobilized when the proposal is to effect a debate on the racial question. With this proposal, the focus is on analyzing the way in which the magazine becomes a communication strategy, not only for systematizing and assigning a certain visual identity to the racial theme on a global scale, but also for giving visibility to the Ideas and actions of Unesco.
