The studies about the presence and effects of food have contributed in a considerable and pluralized way on this thematization that covers the issues of body, hunger, memory, tradition and experience at the table in different moments of literature. Considering the tale on the palate of Italo Calvino's posthumous work, Under the sun-jaguar (1986), this work seeks to compare the game between speech and listening that is drawn between the protagonists of the narrative, from the relationship established by the presence of food I do not count. Through the metaphorical language of food, the narrator reelaborates circumstances of proximity and withdrawal, in which food is a channel of affection, sharing, conflict-free and the absence of communication between the characters.Downloads
