Abstract

William Wordsworth is considered one of the forefathers of English Romanticism — but what would it be like if one were to look at him under the light of “the child is the father of man”? How can we read his poems through and against what came after them, such as the general notions on “Romanticism”, or on “William Wordsworth”. In order to do so, this text raises questions on such themes as nature, the sublime and individual creation in his poetry.
