Declaration of Ethics and Best Practices for Publication

Revista da Tulha (RT) is a scientifically refereed journal, aiming to ensure the highest ethical standards in its publication. The editors, members of the editorial commission and scientific board, ad hoc referees and the authors agree to adhere to relevant and necessary standards of ethical behavior. Taking as a reference the Code of Conduct and Standards of Good Practice for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), https://publicationethics.org/, the following principles are considered for publication.

Editors are responsible for:

  • To make decisions on the publication of the submitted texts, based on the journal policies;
  • Ensure that all evaluation and publication processes are respected;
  • To inform authors and reviewers about the peer-review processes;
  • Ensure a fair and impartial evaluation of the results by double-blind peer reviews;
  • Select appropriate reviewers;
  • Ensure that the identities of peer reviewers are protected;
  • Publish, any necessary corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies;
  • To consult members of the editorial commission periodically as to their views on the management on the operation of the journal and to inform them of any changes in journal policies and to identify future challenges.

Members of the Editorial Commission are responsible for:

  • To contribute to the development and good management of the journal;
  • To assist to promote the journal;
  • To assist editors in making decisions about the journal.

Authors are responsible for:

  • To take responsibility for the content of the article;
  • To participate in peer review process;
  • Ensure that all listed co-authors have participated in the research in a meaningful way, in addition to ensuring consensus among all co-authors in the approving the final version of the paper and its submission for publication;
  • To ensure that the paper has not been submitted to more than one publication at the same time, and that the paper has not been published in another journal;
  • Communicate to the editors if any error or inaccuracy is detected in the published work, so that it can be corrected;
  • To be aware that plagiarism constitutes unacceptable unethical behavior.
  • Reviewers are responsible for:
  • To assist editors in their decisions;
  • To suggest improvements in the work submitted by the author;
  • Communicate to the editors if they do not feel qualified to review the submitted text;
  • Inform the editors if they are aware of copyright infringement and / or plagiarism by the author;
  • Refuse to make the assessment if they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative relationships or in connections with any of the authors or institutions connected to the articles.

Artificial Intelligence

If the authors have used Artificial Intelligence (AI), a clarification of recognition regarding this use must be sent.

When clarifying the use of AI, the author(s) must point out in detail where and how it was used. For example, for translating or reviewing standards and spelling.

Materials that have been developed using AI will not be accepted: texts, bibliographic reviews, or any other mechanisms that may compromise the accuracy of the material as scientific.

Plagiarism:

RT checks through its editors and reviewers that the texts submitted to the journal are plagiarized. If plagiarism is detected, the text will be removed from the evaluation process.
