Abstract

This article brings up a brief discussion about the possibilities and limitations of poetry translation, more specifically about how translation can be faced as process, by shifting to this aspect the attention and importance usually given to the final product. The exercise done with the translation of Goethe's poem Gefunden is to be taken into account as such, i. e., a translation exercise, conducted in a relatively controlled university environment, in which academic reflection is prioritized.
