Abstract

This article studies the illuminated statutes of Ave Maria, or Hubant College (MS Paris, Archives Nationales, M.M. 406, 15), written in Paris in 1346. This source represents one
of the major steps in the foundation of the college and it is investigated as a case-study towards the conceptualization of the notion of social bond, defined here by resorting
to the interrelated concepts of mediation and medialization.
